Why Being a Perfectionist Gets in the Way of Real Achievement

perfectionistquote

note-to-selfNo you’re not. You’re so scared to death of failing or making a mistake that you never do anything of significance.

You are currently 0-0, but will rationalize this by saying that you have a perfect record.

Let’s face it, being a perfectionist is keeping you from accomplishing anything.

Yes, you have a great work ethic, but so does a hamster running on a spinning wheel.

You’re either going in circles or you’re racing to the bottom.

You come up with the best ideas and never implement them because of that fear thing.

You won’t work with others because nobody lives up to your expectations.

Procrastination has become an art form, because the more you delay a project the longer your “idea” stays intact.

I know you think you’ve got a good thing going on…but you don’t.

If you really want to get closer to perfection you have to move forward in the direction of progress.

Learn how to troubleshoot. Embrace your mistakes and missteps. Get over yourself.

And just so we’re clear, I’m not yelling at you. I’m yelling at the old me.

But if you can relate, it may be time for an adjustment.
