OPI, the global nail lacquer company known for its frequent and sometimes brow-raising collaborations, recently announced one of the most brilliant brand extensions I’ve seen in a long time: a home paint line inspired by its’ most popular colors.
The OPI Color Palette, a partnership with Ace Hardware’s in-house Clark + Kensington brand, launched with three collections comprised of six iconic OPI shades each for a total of 18 new paint colors such as “Can’t Find My Czechbook,” “I Eat Mainely Lobster,” and “Miami Beet.” Each collection will also feature five complementary Clark + Kensington colors to spark additional inspiration.
Everything about this collaboration is pitch perfect given the rise in lifestyle blogs, D-I-Y culture and platforms like Pinterest where you can bring your virtual vision board to life within a few clicks.
One of the most daunting tasks when it comes to painting a room is sifting through the seemingly endless options of colors at your local hardware store (which is probably the reason I’ve been putting off painting my bedroom for over a year).
By launching the paint line with proven colors that women already love, OPI may have just found a permanent way into our homes; bringing Clark + Kensington and Ace Hardware along for the ride.
The OPI Color Palette is exclusively available at more than 3,200 Ace Hardware stores nationwide.
